Bruxish were among the most dangerous predators native to Sea Mauville. They were highly aggressive and had some of the most painful, forceful bites of any Pokémon. They would have been a huge problem for other Rangers, even other Captains, to handle.

Shalin was ideal for the solution. With not only a small army of giant insects, but a Sygna Suit designed to augment their powers, it was up to her to rout them... or at least get them far enough from Sea Mauville to relocate the smaller water-types being terrorized and forced away from their habitat. "Captain Shalin Nariya," the Yanmega-mounted female introduced herself to Vespa Baskerville , landing near her Falinks squad. "Bruxish are normally dangerous Pokémon to handle from the water, but I've got the perfect Pokémon for it." Flit stretched his wings, excited to see true action for the first time in quite some time.

Shalin smiled toward the student. "Of course you can, Vespa! So my idea was to distract and incapacitate the Bruxish with some of my flying bug Pokémon. Your Falinks should be able to handle bug-type attacks well." The plan would come to fruition, at least in theory, as long as Shalin's army of noisy Pokémon didn't detonate their sonic blasts too close to the collapsing structure.

Clicking open several more Poké Balls, from within them emerged a Flygon, a Shiny Beedrill, a Shiny Volcarona, and a Frosmoth. Every single one of them wore saddles -- just what kind of maniac was this Petalburg Captain? "Your Ditto will actually be very helpful! With Bruxish being part psychic-type, my idea was to shoo them away with a few Bug Buzz attacks."

Shalin looked like she was about to hop off her Yanmega. Instead, both she and her Flygon began to glow a faint green as she...slid down its wing and stopped near its red tip?

"Got it!" Shalin chirped. "Alright, Dorothy, stay close to me! I'll be able to make your bug attacks stronger!" Drawing upon Infinity Energy from her suit, a BUG ZONE would encompass both the Yanmega and the Ditto-Yanmega. She was ready to chase these pesky psychic piranhas away. "Flit, use your BUG BUZZ!" she ordered, all four of her limbs firmly holding onto the red wingtip.

The Captain disappeared into a green blur, squinting as the vibrations overcame her senses. The rider herself began to resonate with the wing, churning so fast that she herself began to add to the Yanmega's shockwave. Rough surf and a deafening buzz would chase away the vast majority of the Bruxish, those stubborn enough to stick around turning belly-up from sheer exhaustion. Shalin's dragonfly would land on a nearby islet, giving his rider a chance to catch her breath after being at the epicenter of such a giant shockwave.

Shalin's BUG ZONE would also amplify Dorothy's borrowed BUG BUZZ, chasing the horde of psychic piranhas away and letting the Captain focus on aiding Vespa now. "Not a problem! I've got a lot of flying Pokémon with me!" Shalin called back to her partner on the job. Whistling for the rest of her Pokémon, her small air force of giant bugs ready to come to those trapped within Sea Mauville's sinking buildings. While she wasn't expecting to save human lives on this assignment, as a Ranger, she couldn't say no.

Shalin ordered Flit to tilt enough for Shalin to slide back into the saddle proper; without being in combat, there was no point to remaining alight the dragonfly's wing. If anything, she would scare the victims stiff doing that. They might already be that way, given the Pokémon she had brought to save them. "All three of you, hop on!" she gestured toward the Beedrill, Frosmoth, and Volcarona. Only with great reluctance, and a scream of terror from one, did they drop onto the oversized insects and let the Captain usher them to safety.

With the rescue complete, Shalin could address some of Vespa's burning questions on the way back to Dewford. "It's... a bit complicated," the Captain explained. She doubted the girl had ever seen a Sygna Suit before. Explaining it to her without being able to showcase both sides of it would be a mess for her, let alone someone likely not familiar with the supernatural.

With the family safe, Shalin withdrew her noisy insects, leaving her to fly atop Michiko the Frosmoth for a return to Dewford. "How about we set up a meeting at Petalburg Plateau?" she proposed. "It'll be easier to explain things there, at my Pokémon sanctuary there." Provided Vespa agreed, they would set a date, and she would sate her curiosity then and there...
